Coach Chris Baez, the best online christian fitness coach, is a USAF Veteran, trained under special forces, and law enforcement. He studied through NPTI and graduated from Remington College through their Personal Training course.
He is ACE certified and presently undergoing his Bachelors in Science degree at the University of Tampa in Exercise Science with a concentration of Exercise Kinesiology. Chris competed in Men's physique and also became an amateur boxer. His achievements do not define him as a whole. His love for God does.
Many people would train under an individual who has a fantastic personal training background, but without the passion and drive that a person has towards Christ, it is only part of the wholistic health of an individual. Chris embodies a man who will not only help you reach your personal fitness goals through his expertise, but is also more than willing to help sharpen men in their walks with Christ. He plans to also further his education into a Master's in Theology, and become a life coach for men. He is available for both mentorship and discipleship through Iron Sharpens Iron Fitness.

Dr. Mical Baez graduated from Our Lady of Fatima University in Manila, Philippines in 2016 with her medical doctorate (MD). After five months of marriage, Mical became pregnant with her first child. Then, her life took an unexpected turn due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Mical had been working hard towards pursuing her residency program when the pandemic hit. However, with hospitals overwhelmed and the threat of the virus looming during pregnancy, she realized that the path she was on was no longer feasible.
Mical decided to take a different approach with her passion in health and began exploring the holistic side of medicine. She began researching alternative modes of healing and started incorporating them into her daily routine. With time, she found that these methods not only improved her physical health but also her mental and emotional wellbeing.
Mical's decision to take a more holistic approach was not an easy one, but it has proved to be a fulfilling journey. She is now on a mission to educate others on the benefits of holistic healing and became a certified nutrition coach.
With her motivation to empower others to take full control of their health, she diligently partnered with Chris to form Iron Sharpens Iron Fitness. Mical's story is an excellent example of how sometimes taking an unexpected turn can lead us to discover new passions and purposes in life.
By embracing change and being open to new possibilities, we can find fulfillment in ways we never imagined before.
Chris was a young vibrant 20 something year old, with his own goals in the military and thought that's how his life was going to be. He served in the US Air Force proudly in law enforcement, yet felt something was still unsettled in his life. After going through many life situations, Chris knew that although being in the military was an honorable position, it just wasn't what God wanted him to continue.
Chris knew that his love was athletics ran deep which without any hesitancy drove him to NPTI for their personal training course. He was instantly hooked. Chris eventually graduated from Remington College through their Personal Training program, which then his love for athletics became a passion through personal training.
His goal was to help transform others, achieving their health and fitness goals, becoming a better athlete as a whole. Chris began working in well known local gyms, becoming well versed as an expert, master trainer within Tampa Bay.
While Chris was working hard as a personal trainer in Tampa, Mical continued to work through medical school and as a missionary in the Philippines. She returned home in Tampa, Florida as an MD and started working out at a local gym. She did not know who she would encounter but little did she know it, she encountered her husband. Her prayers were answered. Chris became her personal trainer during this time, and quickly, they both knew, they finally found each other's partner for life. It was evident that they were made for each other, as they sharpened each other through the area of fitness.
In March 2019, Chris went through the pain of losing a good friend who passed away from a very rare hematologic condition. This friend was Chris' teacher during the time he studied in Remington College. They became close, like brothers. His passing was a spark in Chris' heart to initiate a dream of his, to own his own gym.
Months passed and Chris worked heartily to start the gym, while working at respective local gyms in Tampa at the same time. Both Mical and Chris made it a point to share the word of God towards members at the local gym, leading weekly bible studies and having worship nights once a month. Many people were encouraged by this, as they led ministry through the local gym. Overtime, they knew that their calling together as husband and wife was bigger than their own. This was when fitness and faith finally collided.
This is why Iron Sharpens Iron Fitness truly exists, for the health of the individual, physically, mentally, spiritually. Proverbs 27:17 says "As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another," is geared towards establish friendship and providing accountability.
As one iron blade is used to sharpen another, thus providing a symbolic yet practical sense of healthy camaraderie and accountability through any season, especially the tough ones. When you sharpen an iron blade, it undergoes so much heat and pressure that it produces sparks. Eventually, over time, the other iron blade becomes sharp enough for its intended use.
Through challenges and adversity, staying under pressure will produce strength and achieve the destiny a person was originally meant to reach. This is the vision Chris and Mical desire to bring into the ISIFIT2717 community, that they sharpen each other, leaving better than when they started.
